Also joining us is Cara Chambers, Director of the Wyoming Attorney General’s Division of Victim Services and Chair of the State’s Human Trafficking Task Force and the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples Task Force.

1:23.0 | We are crying for people to understand and to want to learn more so that these cases can not only be investigated but can be taken on an equal platform. |

1:38.0 | Would you say the movement is picking up steam? |
1:41.0 | Absolutely. When I first heard of MMIW, I would say it was back in 2010. |
1:48.0 | You know, nobody in the states here in the lower 48 were talking about MMIW or even knew what it was. |
1:54.0 | I'm a domestic violence survivor. I'm a sexual assault survivor. I'm a rates survivor. |
2:01.0 | So I'm fighting this from the core of who I am. |
2:05.0 | And if I have to run for office, if I have to lobby Congress, if I have to talk to some letters to the White House, if I have to beckon to the leaderships that in the powers that be, that's what I'm going to do. |
2:19.0 | Because I have dedicated my life that these statistics don't only hang over my head, but my daughter's heads, the daughters of my community, the daughters, Indigenous women and girls across the nation, and beyond that, |
