Ryan J. Moreau is a Husband, Father of five, Entrepreneur, Catholic revert, North Idaho transplant and the CEO of Hope Is Fuel, a “movement” he co-founded with Patrick Coffin. Ryan’s journey to “hope” has not been without some serious bumps and bruises. While he’s experienced the highs and lows that most come to expect with an entrepreneurial career, it was his ten year journey back to the fullness of the faith and his suffering through two serious bouts of anxiety and depression that reminds us all of how God still can draw straight with crooked lines.

With Hope Is Fuel, Ryan is not interested in growing his own personal brand. This project has always been about bringing more truth, greater unity, a stronger community and a life that is deeply rooted in prayer. In fact, when joining Patrick to launch Hope Is Fuel, Ryan has been convicted to make sure that this project remains grounded in Catholic Philosophy while appealing to a wider, more secular audience.

In this Episode You Will Learn

  • The story of how Patrick and Ryan met
  • About his prayer filled journey back to the Catholic faith
  • How Hope Is The Fuel of life and how the “movement” got its name
  • What the most recent Course, “Catholic on Purpose” is all about
  • What to do in a rip current and how that correlates to the Church and culture today
  • Why prayer is the key to connecting with God and how it is the key to having the “eyes to see and ears to hear”
  • What Hope Is Fuel is hoping to accomplish and achieve in the long term
  • The future plans for Hope Is Fuel and what Patrick and Ryan are currently working on

Now we arrive at the caboose of the train. I thought it would be a good idea as did

my guest interview E Ryan J. Moro and my co-founder here at Hope's Fuel to just kind of cast

0:25.3

aside the curtain and give you a look at the dashboard of why do we start this, how do we meet,

0:31.4

what's our mission, what was our original goal, and what are we trying to accomplish in the

0:36.2

pipeline? God willing, Ryan Moro. Good to see you again. I never talked to you, but hey,

0:42.3

it's rare Patrick, but it's really good to see you in this light, which is kind of the light I

0:47.8

always see you in, but it's fun to be on, yeah, exactly, exactly. I've had some work done.

First county, twice left, I was being tempted too much. Great, rub it and rub it in my face.

Ryan, how did you and I meet? Well, we actually met through a mutual friend whose name was Aaron,

1:11.0

Lucoyavitch, and Aaron, interestingly enough, her family has played a major role in my life,

1:18.2

going back to my childhood. There's a lot of interconnectedness, maybe we'll get into that here,

1:23.6

but I am a revert and my wife, Ruthie, who's converted to Oco Action only three years ago,

1:31.1

four years ago, I guess it is now, yeah, in 2019. And when she decided to convert, her mom,

1:39.4

who is a very American conservative Christian loves Jesus, but also grew up in an era where there

1:46.5

were comic books, right, to hate the Catholics. And so that residue stuck. And Aaron, this mutual

1:55.1

friend of ours, and Kelsey, my wife, were very close. And we started sharing a story with Aaron

1:59.8

about a trip. Ironically, we were in Kordelay and Idaho, which is where I live now. And we were

2:04.9

visiting up here and invited her mom over to visit us. And when she came here, she had made some really

2:11.5

interesting comments about the Catholic Church. And of course, I spent 10 years studying the

2:17.4

Catholic Church before I came back in. And so I went to Aaron and knowing that she was a friend of

2:21.5

yours and that you and I also have come to find out, I think, have other mutual friends beyond Aaron,

2:25.9

but she said, Ryan, I've wanted to connect you with Patrick for so long now. So I guess this is
