Show Notes:

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between these two herbs? Sometimes recipes will say they can be used interchangeably and sometimes they will call for both. Turns out they are similar in ways but different in others. This week, we'll talk all about what I learned about these two herbs.

Hey there, and welcome back to the podcast. Today, we're going to be talking about oregano and

0:05.4

marjoram. You may be wondering why such a random subject. Well, if you've been listening this last

0:11.6

month, you know that we have been collecting survey responses from you all to see what kind of topics

0:17.7

you would like to hear explored in 2024. As we've been reviewing

0:22.7

those responses, and thank you all so much who took the time to do that. And by the way, if you

0:27.2

haven't yet, we still have the survey open and we are doing one final drawing for a copy of the

0:34.0

2024 Complete Garden Planner. We've been doing that once a week for four weeks,

0:38.8

and our last one is going to be Thursday. So if you're listening to this in real time, we'll have

0:42.7

this survey in the show notes so that you can chime in with your thoughts and opinions, and this is

0:48.7

a very short survey, so it won't take you long. And then if you do that, you'll be entered to win

0:52.2

the last copy that we're giving away this

0:54.4

year of the 2024 Printable Complete Garden Planner. But yes, as we've been reviewing those responses,

1:00.3

we have gotten some amazing suggestions. Thank you all so much. One thing that caught my eye was

1:05.9

someone who suggested a deep dive into some herbs regarding culinary use.

1:11.6

And that sparks an idea in my mind because I have had a lot of questions in regard to

1:17.6

oregano and margarum.

1:19.6

I grow them both, but there have been some questions that have gone through my mind, especially

1:23.6

as I go to Lowe's and I say, okay, there's a Greek oregano and Italian oregano.

1:27.7

What's the difference? And then we have margarine, which some people will say that they're

1:32.1

interchangeable and they do grow differently between the oregano and the marjoram. And I just thought,

1:39.0

you know, if I'm confused about this, I wonder if anyone else is confused about this.

1:43.8

Therefore, I decided that I would do some research and I would figure out some of the answers
