He's the author of the novels of The Fallen, House of Bones,

Subtrenian Season, and Sleeping Policemen,

which she wrote with Jacksley Jr., as well as the short story collection,

the Resurrection Man's Legacy and other stories.

His short fiction is won the Shirley Jackson Award and the International Horror Guild Award

and been nominated for the Nebula and Bram Stoker Awards.

And we'll be speaking with him today about his new novel in The Nightwood, which was edited by our producer

John Joseph Adams, and about his most recent short story collection, The End of The End of Everything. And now his most recent short story collection the end of the end of everything.

Okay, so in your story, the blue hole, it says, that was the summer I turned 13, the summer

I smoked pot for the first time, the summer I fell in love with movies and science fiction

and rock and roll.

And I was just curious if that was autobiographical at all,

if you ever had a summer like that?

I did.

I don't know that it was when I was 13 times are kind of hazy at this point in my life
