Today is going to be a fun episode with my friend Joe Faulkner and how I got to know Joe is

Joe guides for Alaska Trophy Outfitters Frank Sanders and Joe is the one that just took Dara and I on the awesome

adventure in Alaska up for the mountain goat and then as soon as we got done he took Joe took us to the airport and he was heading

off to another part of Alaska that very next day to go on a sheep hunt.

Joe I'm excited to have you on the podcast how you doing.

Okay not too bad Jay. Yeah I think this is going to be a fun episode we can do some

recap of the goat hunt and we can hear about your sheep hunt.

But before we get into that, Joe, I'd like to get a little bit of a background on you

and growing up in Alaska and if you would maybe tell the

listeners about growing up where you grew up and and how you got into hunting and kind of your start in in all of this crazy adventure stuff.

Yeah sure I was born in so about Alaska, which is down on the Kenai Peninsula there.

My dad and grandfather were there in the oil industry when the pipeline was just getting

put together.

And I kind of grew up there.

A lot of hunting in the background,

you know, being where we were at,

it was, I mean, everybody dreams of coming to Alaska and I just happened to be born here so it was kind of a great deal

And then commercial fishing from there and then just kind of just kind of rolled into being an Alaskan kid I guess and then ended up leaving Alaska when I was younger and

spent a lot of time growing up in Montana also which was Stephen'sville and kind of always

came back so Alaska's always been home it'll always be home to me so that's awesome
