Hello, my name's Justin the Clue and I'm here today with Will Sloan, and you're listening to the Important Cinema Club.

And today, we're talking about, did we pick a title for this episode, like bootleg movies or movies they don't want you to see?

Yeah, I'm still, even at this late stage, even though I suggested this topic, kind of uncertain about the parameters of it, but that's okay. Really, my creative touchstones for this episode are twofold. One of them is, do you remember a film threat used to have a column called The Bootleg Files? I never read film threat with any regularity. Are you talking about the website? The website, which I also never really read with great regularity either.

But like they would have a column in every week it would be a movie like Nothing Lass Forever or Skidoo or one of those movies that, you know, you could only get in bootleg form.

My other creative touchstone is over the years going to conventions or going to indie video stores and seeing

the rack of DVDs that you can buy, you know, burned DVDs of like the Star Wars holiday

special, stuff like that. I used to work in a video store and I would stare at all the cases

that I knew how the person who made them would like what designs they would

pick and stuff like that and go I wonder why this one is not available like why is this the bootleg

and I mean even most of the video stores rest in peace queen video had a bunch of like bootleg

DVDs as well wasn't it great okay this is going to be a nostalgic episode. Wasn't it great when you

moved to Toronto and you went to these video stores that were in downtown Toronto and they had

all the movies who'd ever dreamed of watching? Well, I've said this before, but when I visited my
