0:30.9	Jeannie is a MD-PhD and a leader in the healthcare space.
0:36.0	She's been instrumental in increasing federal funding for ALS research and is a founding
0:41.3	trustee of the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine where she played a pivotal role in
0:46.4	creating the world's largest stem cell grantee agency with an $8.5 billion budget.
0:52.5	After her influence, the agency achieved FDA approvals, fast-track designations, and
0:57.9	launch groundbreaking clinical trials.
1:00.0	Additionally, it helped create over 55,000 jobs in California, 50 new companies, and $10
1:06.4	billion in added state revenue.
1:09.1	And now Jeannie is focused on a new initiative, which we'll be talking about.
1:14.3	It is called Treat California, T-R-E-A-T, and this is a citizen-led ballot initiative
1:21.6	that will provide $5 billion in funding for research and affordable access to mental health
1:26.8	treatments using psychedelic medicines.
1:30.1	You can get more information at the website, treatcalifornia.org, but the immediate need
1:35.7	now is that they have to collect 1 million signatures from registered California voters.
1:41.9	So if you are a registered voter in California, you can go to treatcalifornia.org and download
1:47.4	a petition, print it out, and sign it.
1:50.5	And whether you are a registered California voter or not, you can collect signatures from
1:55.0	California residents, and there's more information on the treat website about how to do that.
2:00.3	And wherever you live on Earth, you can donate to treat.
2:04.4	Because gathering 1 million signatures is actually a very expensive thing to do.
