Today on the James Altiger Show, we're all allowed to deserve more or to want more in our lives.

And to believe it's possible.

Well, that's how it started. I was so unhappy on my law job and I had no idea what to do.

I'd never taken a writing class. I'd never written anything ever.

I wasn't even a big reader. But one night after I came home from the law job, I was so unhappy.

I just started to write stories about my childhood.

And there were three or four stories I wrote in a row that all had this exuberance in them.

Memories of times that I was exuberant and free.

And as I wrote, I thought, God, this is the first time I felt happy in a long time writing.

And I would look up at the clock after I finished these stories and four hours had passed.

And it seemed like 20 minutes.

I took this Kierkegaardian leap of faith into the abyss and quit my law job, which was paying me well into six figures

to take a $23,000 a year job doing data entry.
