Well, hello, friends. It's me, Mike Rowe, and this is episode number 336 of the way I heard it.

I call it a perfectly reasonable chat with Nick Gillespie, because that's more or less what you're about to hear.

Nick Gillespie is the former editor-in-chief of Reason Magazine, and then the editor over at reason.com, and now I think he's the editor at large.

He's devoted to Reason, I suppose you could say.

He's a libertarian who interviewed me for Reason Magazine back in 2010.

And then, again, a couple years later in 2012,

and both of our conversations were really good.

I mean, I thoroughly enjoy talking to the guy.

And then I ran into him a week or two ago in Memphis at Freedom Fest.

And he asked if we could sit down again for another

wide-ranging conversation about this, that, and the other. And I said, sure, why not?

Full disclosure, my plan was to take this week off. Chuck, my intrepid producer, is back

east in Virginia, or maybe North Carolina, visiting with family.

And the travel schedule has just been so crazy.

I thought it would be good just to take a miss on this week.

But then I thought, wait, that conversation with Nick Gillespie was really good.

And so I called him and I said, look, I know we did this for reason, but do you care

if I share it over on my platform? And he said, why not? So thanks, Nick. What you're about to

hear was recorded in a hotel in Memphis about two weeks ago. And by the way, I haven't talked much

about Freedom Fest, but holy cow, man,

that's a whole other conversation. Three, four thousand freedom-loving libertarians from all over the

country descended on Memphis and among them were some presidential candidates I didn't expect to see.
