I, Nick, I really enjoy listening to your show and thought it was about time I shared an

experience that happened to my brother.

I was present when it occurred, so to some extent I was also involved in what happened.

I live in Melbourne, Australia, and this experience occurred in 1996 in a seaside suburb of Melbourne.

I was 12 years old, and my brother was 10 years old at the time.

To protect the identity of my brother, I will give him the alias of Mick.

Mick and I spent the previous year living with separate aunties due to the breakdown of

our family unit, which was a traumatic and difficult time for us.

My dad had taken custody of us in 1996 and became a single parent.
