What's the word passionate about some of the cases that are going on in the news.

But today it's almost I would say a bit of a hybrid because there is a case that has been in the news that I'm sure everyone has been following.

But it's also a case with which you have a lot of familiarity and a connection to.

And so I get the singular pleasure that I've only had a few times here on best case worst case of interviewing you.

Well, francey this is you know something that I am so glad that we're doing that as podcasters and not in your official capacity as a United States attorney assistant United States attorney or district attorney.

But so listen Jim, why don't we start traditionally here? Why don't you give us a little bit about your background and then I'll start asking you the key questions about where you were in the case game.

Well, I mean, I as I say in the beginning of every episode, I was a prosecutor in the city of New York for the city of New York, the New York city law department and we worked in the Bronx family and criminal court building and we have, you know, we I tried cases that ranged from, you know, simple assaults to extortion to I had one attempted murder case.

Drug cases and and other cases like that. I had this extortion case that was the for actually the first trial that I did was an extortion case where these, you know, this gang would would grab a kid when they left their house for school in the morning, put a gun in their face, make them wait around until their parents left the house for work and then have them let them back in.

And then they would burglarize the house, which is actually a robbery because somebody was there, I think, you know, but anyway, they would burglarize the house and then, you know, of course, threaten the kid and and the kid would shut up. So they did this in this one case.

And, you know, just to make sure that the kid didn't say anything the next time they saw him, they grabbed him aside and they put the gun to his face and they said, don't ever tell anybody and it wasn't the kid.

It was his identical twin brother. So that one didn't know anything about the robbery.

And so he told, so he told, yeah, so he told and good for him. And so that was great. I had to, I literally made them wear different color shirts.
