| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the happiness podcast. I'm Dr. Robert Puff. When I was in high school, one |
| 0:10.5 | morning before I woke up I had a knife stuck in my stomach or at least it felt like it |
| 0:17.0 | It was horrible and it was so much pain and it did subside but then a couple days again it came back again when I was sleeping |
| 0:26.6 | like someone stuck a knife in my stomach. I had no idea what was going on so I thought I better make a doctor's appointment and see if he or she had any ideas. |
| 0:36.8 | Well, when I got to the doctor, he started asking me some questions. |
| 0:41.2 | Now, this may sound obvious, but the questions he asked were about my life and he didn't ask any questions |
| 0:48.1 | about the people in my life he just asked what was going on in my life. |
| 0:52.7 | So I told him I was a high school student |
| 0:55.4 | and I was taking an extra heavy load because I wanted to finish high school early. |
| 1:00.0 | And I also had a full-time job |
| 1:02.1 | where I was working about 35 to 40 hours a week at the same time. |
| 1:06.0 | And so he asked me, do you drink a lot of coffee to stay awake? |
| 1:08.8 | I said, no. |
| 1:10.0 | I said, hmm, are you under a lot of stress? |
| 1:12.0 | I said, yeah, but it was manageable. |
| 1:15.0 | And they said, do you happen to drink soda? |
| 1:17.8 | And I smiled and I said, yep, every day, lots of it. |
| 1:21.8 | He said, well, you have an ulcer that's caused probably by the stress in your life and drinking |
| 1:27.1 | amat soda. So I would suggest that you stop drinking the soda and reduce the stress in your life. |
| 1:32.4 | That's what he told me to do. the soda and reduces stress in your life. |
| 1:33.0 | That's what he told me to do, and thankfully his advice worked. |
| 1:37.0 | It took a while, but slowly I stopped waking up in the middle of the night, |
