Summary

One of the themes I’ve been seeing repeatedly in our community recently is around feeling stuck in roles that feel out of alignment with our core values. This shows up in our jobs when we see that companies we work for don’t truly stand behind their mission statements. This happens in our families when we see our siblings, parents or in-laws not acting in high integrity.  This happens in our friendships when we see the women around us judging and gossiping and putting other women down. This is hard to watch and even harder to be a part of when we feel we are right in the middle of it all.  It often feels like a massive breach of our own integrity - which feels confusing and really conflicting.  I want to challenge you to step back from these situations for a moment to get a better view of what’s going on and consider the ways you can RISE UP when you’re in the middle of situations which feel our of integrity and out of alignment with your personal and professional core values.  Here are 7 ways to start to RISE UP in work and life: Position yourself as a leader Unapologetically own your strengths, gifts, and ZOG Unapologetically own what you suck at Know what you stand for Know what you don’t stand for Know the difference between tattling and documenting/reporting Be humble and gracious, while still standing in your power (rather than shrinking in gratitude) Listen in to this full episode to hear the deep dive on these 7 techniques.  Links Mentioned: Get on the WaitList for Shameless Mom Con 2020 Thank you to our sponsors: Katie the Cookie Bee: Katie the Cookie Bee Third Love: To find the perfect fitting bra and get 15% off your first purchase got to Third Love Bioclarity: So go to Bioclarity and get 40% off skincare routines PLUS an additional 15% off EVERYTHING on their website when you use my code SHAMELESS at checkout. Hello, Shameless moms. Happy Monday. It's so sunny in Seattle right now. I mean, it's basically

0:59.3

summer. I can't even handle it. It's so great. And last weekend I was up in Calgary, or up in Banff,

1:05.7

actually, I flew into Calgary and then went up to Banff. And it was snowing. So I feel like I've earned the sun. It's really amazing.

1:12.7

So I hope it's sunny wherever you are. I hope you're enjoying some beautiful weather and just

1:17.3

full on in like spring pre-summer mode. I also, of course, hope that you had a wonderful Mother's Day.

1:23.7

Let's get real honest on Mother's Day. Most of us, I think, would agree that our Mother's Day dream is to not mother on Mother's Day.

1:31.9

And I remember my first few Mother's Days being so surprised that, like, babies and toddlers don't get it.

1:40.1

They don't get that they are supposed to be on their best behavior on Mother's Day.

1:43.4

And instead, they somehow, like, the universe conspires to make them be on their worst behavior. So I quickly

1:48.6

became very, very privy to the idea that Mother's Day should be about not mothering at all.

1:55.8

In fact, you should just not even be around your children. You should basically get a free pass for
