He's the author of the fantasy series of Land Fit for Heroes

and his debut novel altered Carbon has been adapted into a Netflix original series, which we reviewed back in

episode 295.

He's also written scripts for graphic novels such as Black Widow Homecoming and video

games such as Crisis 2.

And we'll be speaking with him today about his new novel Thin Air, a sequel to his 2007 novel Blackman.

OK, so your new book is called Thin Air.

And to the acknowledgments, you say that the book is dedicated

in part to quote, all of you who wanted and waited for me to write more

SF thank you for your voices they've made all the difference yeah that's

could you just expand on that and say why you decided to write more

SF now and what was involved with that decision? Yeah, I mean it wasn't really a, you know, a turnabout decision or anything.

It was, it was, in the grand scheme of things what was always going to happen because I, way back when a long time ago now I don't like to think

about how many years ago it was I signed up with my UK publishers to do for a six book deal and

that was going to be three science fiction novels and three fantasy novels.
