I'm so sorry. Hellenistic from the jump. I've got two goals. One is to have a great time in this second and maybe learn something.

But the second is to, you know, be responsible with a recording time here. And so I've got to get my shots at early and then decked down into the edges.

Yes, well, you know, this is going to be a, hopefully a slightly different kind of episode since, you know, we are talking about Shabbat and rest and some kind of paradoxical ideas within that.

So it should be a little bit different. But we'll see. Maybe God has other plans. I can't say, but what I can say is that we have some reading to do. Brent, you want to help us out?

Let us begin in Genesis 2. Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day, God had finished the work he had been doing. So on the seventh day, he rested from all his work.

Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy because on it, he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

There's a little bit to unpack here. This is a very strange day in a couple of ways. It's first of all kind of hard to dissect it the way we have our previous days of creation, because God really isn't creating anything per se.

But in terms of like big, broad, like thematic or narrative elements in this tight little story.

Really, the one thing that seems to pop up multiple times is that this idea of completion.

So we start with this idea of a creation that has already been completed.

And then it's reintroduced paradoxically as something that God completed on the day.

And that is a little bit of a puzzle.

But before we go too far into that, there's a really interesting phrase at the beginning that I want to get.

I want to get L to speak on it, which is that.
