Hello everyone, I'm Jillian. Welcome back to The Hamilkast. This week, I'm wrapping up my

conversation with the truly fantastic Sam Wasin. Sam's first two episodes were packed with

stories and references and great conversations, so as always, go back and listen to those if you

haven't already. Sam talks about his first time seeing Hamilton, the importance of great storytelling

in all its forms, how he wrote the definitive book on Fawsi that led to the Fawsi Verde series on

Wasin. Another thing that comes up a lot on the podcast is improv, because of free style of

supreme, and because it's a really scary thing for people, so I want to talk to you about your

experience with improv and your book on the subject. It is scary. It is scary, but it's one of the

most important things a person could learn in life, improv. I think it's scary because people assume

that if you're improvising, you are on a stage doing it in front of people, but people don't

realize that they are improvising 98% of their day. Right. I mean, you Jeannie Ross Lemming,

who was in, I love what she said, she was in second city with Balushi and Joe Flarety and

Harold Raymus. She said, improv rules are basically good manners. Yeah. And it's true. That's, I loved

I love that. I love that. And it teaches you how to be in a democracy. It teaches you how to

collaborate. It teaches you to embrace your unconscious. It teaches you finally to trust

yourself and other people. And that's the point. That's the gift of doing it in public, you know,

is that you have to go through that trial by fire of the potential failure. Come out the other

side to see, oh yeah, I can do it. They don't hate me. I don't hate them. You know, we are in it
