Summary

When it comes to building a viable business online, some will make it, and some won't. With a couple decades of experience I feel like I can consistently predict who the winners will be - and it all comes down to how you decide to answer one simple question! Today I'll share that question with you and tell you why it's VITAL.  I made this episode today because as I look around the landscape of those who started their online business journeys in the past 5,10 or 20 years and seemed to have great momentum, too many have gone on to fail - and that's upsetting, and unnecessary. There are many others I've watched however who, like me have stood the test of time and continue year after year to thrive and grow in the world of home based internet business. Let's explore why that is with a simple question.

Welcome back to Silent Sales Machine Radio.

0:05.5

And today I have a very simple question for you.

0:09.2

And it's a decision you have to make.

0:12.2

If you don't make this decision, you're still making the decision.

0:16.8

It's one of those where deciding not to decide is actually a very clear choice that you've made.

0:23.9

And it's this.

0:25.6

Do you want to go fast or do you want to go far?

0:30.4

There's a couple different ways you'll hear that quote referenced online.

0:36.9

And if you research it, it's either an ancient African proverb,

0:41.2

or I've seen some other cultures credited with the origination of that phrase, or someone who

0:47.7

used it most often, one of my favorite people ever, is John Wooden, one of the most successful coaches, if not the most successful coaches,

0:58.2

arguably in all of sports, because at one point he won multiple championships in a row,

1:04.1

multiple national championships in a row, coaching basketball at UCLA.

1:07.7

And if you get me started on basketball, and especially John Wooden, I can go all day.

1:13.4

Very influential guy in my life. I actually played basketball at the same high school that he did.

1:20.0

And at the time, I didn't understand the significance of that. But if you read up on who John Wooden is,

1:25.2

you're going to be impressed. But I won't dive off into that territory.

1:29.2

But let's just use a quote that was one of his favorites, which was this. You've got to decide if

1:34.2

you want to go fast or go far. And basically it goes like this. If you want to go fast, go alone.

1:40.3

If you want to go far, take a team. I'll repeat that if you've never heard it. It's pretty powerful stuff. If you want to go far, take a team. I'll repeat that if you've never heard it.

1:45.5

It's pretty powerful stuff.
