Hello everybody and welcome to Books Unbound, the podcast where we Unbind books

to get to their hearts with your host, me, Ariel, and Raylene, who isn't here because

this is a very special episode that I recorded with one of my favorite,

and actually one of Raylene's favorite authors, AS King. We love AS King. This podcast is a huge fan of AS King.

We have been reading her books for, I mean, basically a decade now and just

loving what she does and who she is. Before Books Unbound was the podcast that you and I now know

in love, it was just little old me in my room on my own. And I knew I really wanted to do a book podcast, but I didn't have a

co-host yet. And so I was brainstorming ideas. And I thought, well, wouldn't it be really cool

to review books with authors? That would be really cool. And so I reached out to AS King and I said,

hey, your favorite book is, God bless you, Mr.

Rosewater by Kurt Vonnegut, right? Do you want to reread it with me and, I don't know,

talk about it on a podcast? And she replied back saying, yeah, that sounds like fun. Let's do it.

So we did. But then the podcast kind of took on a new life. I started recording episodes with Raylene instead,

and this beautiful episode that I recorded with AS King never came out.

And I hate that. It's illegal.

So this is what I am offering to you today, a special episode.

It's obviously very different than what we usually do,

but it was so much fun. AS King is definitely she is genuinely one of my heroes. I look up to her so

much, and it was so fun to get to chat about her favorite book. So I hope that you enjoy this episode.
