to talk about his new book How to Love Wine. Hi Eric how are you? Happy to be here.

Nice to see you. So you've been doing this for a few years. I remember we had

dinner one time and you're like, I've been working on a book today and that was that

was a few years ago. So is sad to to sort of experience the the long journey of

writing a book especially if you're just doing it in your on your weekends and

occasional evenings.

For me it was a long slog, but I'm glad it's coming out.

What was the Genesis?

I mean, what got you going?

Well, you know, for one thing, just practically speaking, I actually had people asking me

for a book and that's very flattering and you say, okay, well, all all right I'll write a book what should I write and

and that took a while just to really consider whether I had something worth saying.

And the more I thought about it, I started thinking of the people who come up to me all the time when they learn I write

about wine and they just kind of

kind of apologize to me for not knowing very much about wine.

And then they say, oh, but I know I should, as if there's some sort of obligation to know anything about line.

And I've been hearing this from people for so long. I thought what you know what is it about

wine that that makes people feel so insecure and an anxious and apologetic and

inadequate and that was really the starting anxious and apologetic and inadequate.

And that was really the starting point of the book.
