0:00.0 | What is going on, everybody. |
0:16.1 | Welcome back to another episode of Beyond the Tape. |
0:20.4 | And today I'm excited to unveil my really early 2026 running back rankings. |
0:26.7 | And I'll throw in a couple of honorable mentions in there as well. |
0:30.1 | But guys, really excited to break down my top 10. |
0:32.6 | I'd love to hear yours down below in the comments section. |
0:35.2 | Or if you're watching on X, give me some names for applying back to this live or if you're watching on the replay or if you just want to hit me up in my DMs, feel free to hit me up on X at T.J. Winger, my last name is spelled W-E-N-G-E-R-T. Good batch of running backs to talk about. Let's waste no time. Let's kick this off with my running back number 10, |
0:55.7 | and that is going to be running back from Texas, C.J. Baxter. Also, let me know which you prefer |
1:01.1 | white background or the football field. Going with the football field today. All right, |
1:04.6 | CJ Baxter, you can see height, weight, the class. The big thing for him is he missed all of last |
1:09.8 | year torn ACL. So don't have any |
1:13.0 | 2024 stats. And that's why you'll see the rushing yards, they go back to 2023. Same thing with |
1:17.3 | the touchdown, the fumble ratio and everything in the touchdown fumble that is going to be |
1:22.3 | strictly from a rushing perspective. I will add in some of these guys are really nice receiving |
1:26.8 | threats. So I will throw in some of these guys are really nice receiving threats. |
1:31.4 | So I will throw in some of those receiving, you know, touchdown productions. |
1:35.0 | But everything you see, you know, touchdown to fumble wise, that is just from a pure rushing perspective. But CJ Baxter, again, looking at 2023 tape, you know, former five-star |
1:40.2 | recruit, got to play six games in a pretty busy Texas backfield and you know not the |
1:46.5 | biggest of sample size not by any stretch of the imagination 139 carries not the biggest workload but |
1:52.1 | still pretty impressive for a true freshman and in that you see a big powerful back that also |
1:58.9 | was explosive and that all kind of you know five-star recruits they are these twitched-up athletes of a unique build. So like that kind of, you almost kind of come to expect that. If you're a five-star, you're probably big and really explosive. CJ Baxter absolutely is that. And I think from a receiving standpoint, and this is something that, you know, Csarkeesian, he is going to gravitate towards past catching money backs. |
2:18.3 | And that is, even if he's not gravitating towards that, is a skill set he is looking for you to have. And especially for someone who's listed at 2.30, C.J. Baxter, man, like, I think he's got some nice receiving ability. Soft hands. I think he tracks the football really well. And then once you get him in the open field, you know, he kind of puts defenders in a blender because you could lower your shoulder and go through you. But he also moves really well. He's got pretty light feet. He's pretty agile. He can make you miss an open field. And then again, going back to 230 pounds, I have to note this, he does have some really nice solid contact balance. And he's doing all this as a true freshman. |
