Alright Chris, this is Carl driving down I-90 on the East Coast and I was just

listening to your podcast with about Anthony Bourdain and he caught me thinking

about my buddy who I lost in the same manner as Bourdain and and he was a

world traveler and he was a good guy and he had a lot of heart and and he we had

many adventures together good and bad and I miss him so thanks for the podcast

and here's to you Fuzz piece Carl sent me that a few weeks ago and yeah of

course I was moved by it when I heard it and wanted to play it in the next

episode and but then I got another email from him saying hey you know what

I've been thinking about that maybe maybe shouldn't play that and it's because

he was worried that somebody who knew Fuzz his buddy maybe didn't know the

details of his death or just didn't want to be reminded of his death or whatever

and on the off chance that they happen to listen to this podcast he didn't want

to hurt anybody and so I wrote back and said yeah of course you know I respect

that you know what me to use it I want but I don't know it seems to me you were

being super respectful and all you're saying is you miss the guy and and you

love him that I can't imagine anyone being offended by that but it's your call

anyway a few days passed and then call wrote back and I said to him he said

something in an email he's like yeah there's a lot more to the story but you're

busy I don't want to bore you and I wrote back and said no I'd love to hear it so

this is what I got from Carl I met my buddy in the late 80s at a college I only

attended for a year he was one of those people who you immediately recognize
