Summary

In this episode, I’m picking up from where we left off yesterday—talking about the key areas where you need to know people. We cover the health and medicine space, fitness, and education. I share stories on why you don’t always have to follow the system, especially when it comes to having babies or getting healthy. The system isn’t always designed with your best interest in mind, so you need people who can show you other options. If you’ve got kids or plan to, the education system is another area where having connections really matters. Show Notes:  [01:50]#4 The medicine and the health space. When people aren't incentivized to do things, they tend to do it more often.

0:02.8

Not in a nefarious way, but if you incentivize something, people are going to do it. This is how it works. This is just human nature. This is why you've got to protect yourself by having contacts in different spaces. Drey.com. Pre is exceptional. Work on your game. I like the approach. Work on your fucking games. Everybody relates to what Dre is saying is in a different way. Work on your game. I like the way he thinks. Work on your fucking game. I like the frameworks that is put together. Work on your game. And I would highly recommend it to anybody that's trying to work on their game. Work on your fucking game. I think it's a good approach. It's a different approach too. Hey, you, work on your game. Gave me something really good. Work on you gain, dry old day.com. And his philosophy makes a lot of sense. Not only work on your game, perfect your craft. Work on your game. He knows how to communicate in such a fabulous way. I can't say it enough. Work on your game. You're now tuned into the show where you learn the discipline to show up day after day to do the work, the confidence to put yourself out there, boldly and authentically, and the mental self, and to continue showing up, doing the work, putting out there, even when the success you've expected to achieve has yet to be achieved. And on top of all this, you'd have used those personal initiative. That is, to go get an energy that moves any one of us, including yourself, to go and make things happen instead of waiting for things to happen. And then we put all this together into a series of frameworks, approaches, insights, strategies and techniques the umbrella, a one unifying philosophy that is called Work on Your Game. My name is Drey Baldwin, also known as Dre All Day, and welcome to the show. And today's topic is, you must know people in every one of the areas that I am listing here. Yesterday, we started on part one. I don't have to give you too much background on this because the title is self-explanatory. Sometimes I use metaphorical titles. This one is not metaphorical. I mean this one literally. Let's pick up right where we left off, which is on point. Number four, you must know people in every industry that I am mentioning in this series. Number four, medicine slash health. Now, you may be wondering, well, Joe, you just said medical in the

2:02.4

first point of yesterday's episode. Here I'm talking about somebody who actually understands

2:07.1

on a detailed level, pharmaceuticals, prescriptions, any type of drugs or interventions that you

2:13.0

may want or think that you need. For example, in the process of childbirth, there are lots of things

2:19.7

that the medical industry, such as doctors and nurses, will tell you that many of us have been

2:24.2

indoctrinated to believe. But if you go talk to someone who is more on the anti-system route,

2:31.0

for lack of a better term, such as, let's say, a midwife or a doua, they may have a

2:35.9

different way of looking at things. In other words, you may not need to get a C-section. I saw someone

2:41.6

posts on social media the other day. My wife is about to have a kid and all the kids she's had so

2:46.9

far have all been C-sections. It's about to get another C-section. There are some people who don't think

2:51.6

that American women need to be getting C-sections nearly as much as they have been getting them.

2:56.5

There is data that shows that the number of women getting C-sections has continually risen over the

3:01.9

past several decades. Why is this? Well, depends on who you ask. One reason that some may posit is because the medical

3:10.1

industry is able to get you in the bed and out of the bed faster when they can determine what time

3:15.0

that baby is going to be born. In other words, finding a way to induce the birth by giving you a C-section,

3:20.3

rather than letting it naturally happen the way labor is supposed to happen. And in the hospital,

3:24.7

they don't want you sitting in the bed for a long time. Because the longer you sit in the bed, they can only charge you one time for the one time you're in the bed. If they get you in and out, and then to bring next moment in and out, now they can make more money by getting more people in and out of the bed. And there's also the drugs that come with the C section. And also because the C section itself is major surgery being performed in a woman's body and guess what surgery ain't free are your

3:25.6

insurance or you got to pay for that surgery? So all of these things could be incentives. I talked about this in yesterday's episode. Incentives that cause the medical industry or it leads to the medical industry and the people in it to have you do things that you really don't need to do. Giving you drugs that you really don't need to take. Getting you on prescriptions that you really don't need to be on. Giving you interventions that you really don't need to have done to you. I've given you this story. I've given you a couple of these stories. First of all, I gave you the story of my son's birth. We did a planned home birth with a midwife and a doer in our home. We ended up taking our son to

4:14.9

the hospital the same night because you just wanted to make sure he had not ingested any poop,

4:19.5

also known as maconium, that he released while he was still inside of mommy's womb. And while at the

4:25.8

hospital, the doctor, the physician in charge of the NICU, neonatal intensive care unit,
