The Oh, Hello and I have three spooky stories for you and the last story comes from the 30th of November

2023 and story number one comes from Samantha. I only recently started listening

to the podcast so I've only listened to a fraction of your many, many episodes, but I am curious to find out if the same street has come up before.

I went to university in deepest, darkest Wales and had some very unusual experiences in two houses on the same street which was mostly rented out to students.

It might still be, but I don't think there are that many students these days. The street is in Lampede. My experiences were in number three and number nine, but I've since heard that quite a lot of students during that time also had weird experiences.

Nicky, one of my housemates in number three, as it happens the same person who recommended your

podcast, has some stories to tell about her time there. She moved into number nine after I had left

Lampeter and saw some very odd stuff. I moved out of University

Halls and into number nine in the summer of 2001 just as my first year ended. I

absolutely loved it. I had a massive first floor room with a big bay window and a

wardrobe that was almost big enough to store the ridiculous amount of clothes that I

had. I kept different hours from most of my housemates. None of my lectures

were before midday that year and I'm a night owl by nature. But that wasn't a

big deal as I hung out with friends outside of the house and I made sure I was quiet

as a mouse when I came in.

The only issue was the girls in the basement flat downstairs.

One in particular seemed to go insane after she and our housemate Martin broke up.

She started accusing him of deliberately jumping up and down first thing in the morning,

making a racket to wake her up.

I got into the habit of having toast for dinner when I came in just before going to bed, usually around midnight I guess. The hallway had light switches on mechanical timers.

I think it was a spring mechanism of some sort.

You would press a button to turn the light on and it would slowly come back out and the lights would go off.
