Hi, I'm Rachel Hollis and this is my podcast. I spend so many hours of every single week reading and listening to podcasts and watching YouTube videos and trying to find out as much as I can about the world around me.

0:41.0

And that's what we do on this show. We talk about everything, life and how to be an entrepreneur.

0:48.0

What happened to dinosaurs? What's the best recipe for fried chicken? What's the best plan for intermittent fasting? What's going on with our inner child? How's therapy working out for you?

This is the Rachel Hollis podcast. Hey guys, good morning. Well, it may not be morning where you are, but it's morning where I am and I hope it's a good one.

1:26.0

I will acknowledge right here at the top a couple of things. Number one, I am in a hotel room in New York. So there's a very solid chance you're going to hear honking and cars and taxis.

1:40.0

And number two, I'm in the middle of my speaking tour. So I know that my voice sounds like my throat is swollen and a little scratchy because that is what is happening when I am doing tour.

1:54.0

I speak for at least two hours straight inside of the event and then I do a VIP meet and greet which could take another hour of talking and it's so much fun. I'm so grateful to get to do it, but it does.

2:07.0

It does make my voice sound a little funny. So I'm kind of like that time when Phoebe got the cold on friends and then all of a sudden she had the greatest singing voice.

2:16.0

I've got like a weird yeah, that's what's happening. So I appreciate your patience as it's not quite as crystal clear and melodic as you're used to. I sort of feel like what was that show?

2:30.0

What was that like all-time radio show which probably still still exists? Remember Delilah, Delilah has to still be doing her thing. Remember she would be like, welcome to Love Songs with Delilah.

2:43.0

This one goes out to Steve. Sarah wants you to know that you are the love of her life. In this current state, I feel like I could be a late night romance radio host. So, that's now we're going to talk about today everybody.

3:00.0

Thank goodness. We are going to talk about knowing when to quit, which I'm going to be honest is not an episode I thought I would ever do because I don't quit.

3:14.0

I had a recent experience where I was doing a physical challenge and it was the first time since I've ever taken on like marathons or any sort of big physical, you know, push yourself kind of thing that I couldn't finish.

3:31.0

Like I physically could not finish and I've never experienced that before. It was one of the greatest lessons I've ever learned in my life and I was like, oh, I cannot wait to talk to everybody about this.

3:42.0

Before we jump into that, I have to acknowledge we've only done two city stops on this tour. We did Birmingham, Alabama and we did Charleston, South Carolina and it has been incredible.

3:56.0

It has been incredible for so many reasons. I started this journey of this tour and really I didn't know why I was being called to do it. I feel very strongly that God and the universe encouraged me, gave me this idea, like made everything aligned so that it could happen.

4:16.0

But I couldn't totally understand why because in the past, when I've done conferences, like if you ever into a rise conference, there are these massive events, there are multi-day, there are really energetically life changing for so many of us who go because you can't not be changed.

4:38.0

You come into a room with 5,000 or 8,000 or 10,000 people and you work on yourself for three days. The energy in that space is unprecedented and that's what I was coming out of. That's what I had sort of worked up to in doing this work.

4:56.0

And then I get this idea to do a tour because I thought, when it be amazing if we could go to people, instead of people coming to us, we could go to them and they wouldn't have to pay for travel and if they needed to get a sitter, it would only be for a few hours.
