Summary

I've been quite busy marking exams recently and haven't had a chance to upload any episodes for a few weeks, but today I managed to record this episode while preparing dinner. So in this one you'll hear me in the kitchen, multitasking - cooking a chicken dinner (recipe below) while describing everything that I'm doing. In this episode you'll learn some verbs for preparing food, words to describe different kitchen utensils and other language related to food and eating. Also, I ramble on about a few other things, as usual! Expect more podcasts to arrive in the near-ish future when I have a bit more time. Thanks for listening! Episode page http://wp.me/p4IuUx-5EM

Hello everyone. Welcome to the podcast. How are you doing? I hope you're well. Now in

0:18.0

this episode you join me in the kitchen. It sounds a little bit different I expect that's because I'm using a different microphone

0:24.7

I've got a sort of lapel mic which means I can use my hands so I'm not like holding a mic and I can move

0:31.5

around so that's why it might sound a little bit

0:35.1

different and in this episode yeah I'm in the kitchen and I'm kind of

0:39.6

multitasking or killing two birds with one stone whatever you want to call it.

0:44.0

Basically I am doing two things at the same time so I'm in the kitchen preparing to make some

0:51.0

food and I'm also recording a podcast which you probably noticed since

0:56.1

you're listening to it. So that's it. So the reason I'm doing this, the reason I'm

1:01.2

doing these two things at the same time is because I'm a little bit busy at the

1:06.2

moment and that explains why you haven't had a podcast in a couple of weeks. It's been sort of maybe two or three weeks or two and a half weeks

1:16.9

since I uploaded the last one. Some of you out there might be wondering where I've been

1:22.4

and what I've been doing. I do have a few

1:25.2

thousand I don't know exactly how many of you but 10,000 20,000 I'm not sure anyway

1:31.6

I've got loads of listeners out there and some of you I know

1:36.6

like to listen very regularly and you might have been waiting for a new episode to arrive. Well here it is and so it's

1:47.8

been a little bit of a while. Well not that long, a couple of weeks since the last one and I've just been very busy I've got lots of stuff on my plate at the moment

1:57.8

Not literally I haven't actually prepared any food yet, but that's just an expression that we use in English.

2:04.7

If you say that you're busy or if you have lots of things to do, you can say that you have a lot of things

2:08.3

on your plate.
