thing at this point, but we haven't really taken a fine look at this situation.

No. In 1980, Stephen King, the adaptation of Stephen King's The Shining, went into theaters.

It was directed by Stanley Kubrick, written by Stanley Kubrick, and it is, by all accounts all accounts today considered a masterpiece.

Yeah it's I would say it's kind of considered the definitive version in a way even

though it's based on a book even though it's based on a book and it's very different from the book.

Insanely different. It is essentially a different story based on the same core concept of a family goes away to a hotel

stays there during the winter dad goes crazy yeah and from there the paths kind

of diverge. Yes.

And so because of that Stephen King was very upset.

He let it be known.

And I really actually kind of respect this.

He was like, no, that's not my story.

And like, people love it, although weirdly at the time, I found this out.

It was not reviewed very well when it first came out.

Yeah, I guess I kind of knew that.
