This is episode number 327 and it is a listener story.

Earlier in the fall of 2021 we got an email from Jake and he sent us some really cool photos

of a moose that he had hunted in Alaska and was sharing his success with us and he had

some nice things to say about the pack and stuff like that but didn't say too much in the

email.

And then a week or so later I think it was I got an email from his uncle and his uncle

knowing that Jake was a pretty humble quiet guy told us more of the story and so Jake's

uncle told me in the email, I hope Jake tells you how he was dropped off by bush plane

to hunt alone for the first three days.

I hope he tells you about killing the moose six miles from camp then field processing

the entire moose by himself.

I also hope he shares how it took two days to get help flung in for him after killing

the moose and how he had packed five of the nine loads by himself through the Alaskan

bogs and brush.

And so Jake's uncle filled us in on more of the story and soon as I heard all those details

it sounded like an amazing adventure.

I knew I wanted to get Jake on the podcast to tell us the whole story and the true story

and that's what we're doing today.

So this is a remote Alaskan moose hunt that ended up being solo in a heck of an adventure
