It's 1924 and Eastern State penitentiary in Pennsylvania, and a dark figure walks the halls of the notorious prison compound.

The figure is said to be dangerous, a threat to the public, one that shows no remorse for his crimes.

And yet, people love him here, because he's kind,

warm, affectionate. In fact, he's a friendly black Labrador retriever. This is the story of Pepp the Prison Dog, a morale-boosting mascot of Eastern State, who, despite his fabricated notoriety, would go down in
