I remember sending that final message to him that Sunday night after Valentine's Day.

And then the calls started, the text started, the Instagram messages started, and all of them were coming in.

And it was like he was having a conversation with himself.

Or it was the videos he's sending me on Instagram are videos about happy couples

who are growing old together. I mean, really strange things that I remember my stomach

kind of sinking and thinking, this is, this is not good. This is not good. I'm Jamie Beebe.

And I'm Jake Deptula. On today's episode of Strictly Stalking, we're speaking with Linda, a county prosecutor who became the targeted persistent stalking by an active law enforcement officer.

Despite obtaining a protection order, Linda says the stalking hasn't stopped. She's been followed, her home has been entered, and even her phone calls no longer feel private.

As the investigation unfolds, she has left navigating the terrifying reality of being

both a prosecutor and a victim while questioning the system she once trusted.

Linda's story is about power, betrayal, and what happens when the people meant to enforce

the lot become the ones who break it.

Did you always want to be a prosecutor?

That's not something normally kids decide to get into when they're growing up.

I would say I knew pretty early on that this is what I wanted to do.

I'm actually a fifth generation attorney.

And so actually prosecutor as well.

And so I think I knew from a pretty early age and I always joke with people. I took one biology class in college and I knew that that was not for me. And so I've always known I graduated with my

bachelor degree in criminal justice. I was a clerk filing clerk for the local

county attorney's office. And so I knew pretty quickly that this was the area that I desired to be in.
