What's popping, everybody? Hello and welcome to popcorn culture. My name is Ben Carlin, and I am your host. Here. Me today is my brother Jay, who will be in every episode.

0:25.0

I haven't missed one yet. Dude, we are back from Disney World.

0:29.1

I can't believe it. I can't believe it. Like, I mean, it's, there's so much that happens.

0:36.5

We talked about, like, all of the, like all the all the buildup like all of the

0:40.0

preparation on the front end yes the booking your dining and the fast passes and getting all the

0:47.3

clothes together and packing the bags and making the arrangements and making shrush shuttles at the

0:53.1

airport to take you to the resort.

0:55.2

And then, and then it finally happens and you're there.

0:58.9

And then it finally happens and you are there. And everything is underway and it starts

1:04.3

speeding by in the fastest possible way. It is crazy how fast it goes. You're there for like a whole

1:09.1

week. But what's crazier to me is how is like when you get home like I actually wrote this down. There's like there's this really weird feeling where it's like the following day or the following week can almost be like unsettling because despite everything that happens the week before, everything returns to normal so quickly, you can like find yourself wondering like if, if last week even happened at all. Yeah. Yes. Absolutely. I, I would totally agree. Like it was, it was like we, we like, you know, we spend so much time because like, I, and I remember mom being like, like, big on this when we were kids and it always seemed like, what's the point? Like, why are we doing this? But it would be like, before you left on a trip, you would like clean the house and get it already. So like when you came home, you'd come home to like a clean house. Right. And so we, we do that though. It is a very nice thing to come home to like things kind of like being in some measure of order. But in the same way that happens on any trip where you know, you've got everything all neatly packed up in your suitcases, then you get there and the suitcase is open and they explode all over the place. Yeah. And like all of a sudden there's like, you know, shirts hanging off the back of chairs and you've got towels on, you know, the hinges of the door and just like all the

2:21.3

random places where everything ends up. Yes. Settling. It's like, I feel like we walk back

2:25.3

into our house and it's like, we're still amidst like a major renovation. Right. Um, there,

2:32.2

there was a giant snowstorm that happened before we left and, my driveway is like fully in the shade of my house. Oh, no. So it didn't melt. It did not melt. It is still a complete sheet of ice. Is it still? It, I mean, a sheet of ice. Wow. Cause it rained, like a fairly like a somewhat warmer rain over the weekend. It did. And I was like, oh, that'll do it. And then it didn't. And I didn't. I was, I was absolutely floored. So actually, like,

2:54.5

I literally, fairly like a somewhat warmer rain over the weekend. It did. And I was like, oh, that'll do it.

2:51.1

And then it didn't. And I didn't. I was, I was absolutely floored. So actually, like, I literally

2:54.8

even went to go, like, take the trash out. And this is like one of those details that like, I don't know if it's like too much to ask our house, like to sitter to like go and take the cans to the road. The answer is that it's not too much of an ask. I understand that.

3:06.0

Right. But we haven't asked them to do it.

3:07.9

Okay. So like in addition to coming home exactly as you say, it's like the house immediately felt like a mess again. The renovation is still completely underway. So there's, you know, plastic separating half of our house from the other half of our house. And there's kind of a thin layer of dust that settled from all the demo and everything

3:25.4

that's been going on. All of our old trash that was in the trash cans before we left was still there

3:31.5

and they were still, the trash cans were still like iced to the ground in the driveway. Yeah. So you're

3:37.6

like, I get there and I go to take the trash out and I like open the gate fence door, whatever. I take one step out. I almost fall because I'm like not expecting the ice to be there. You know, the trash cans are still like overflowing and you're just like, oh my gosh. Like I am, I am right back in it. Yeah. It's like that's the, you know, you're like doing last week's chores all of a sudden. Yes. You know, that's no fun. But like,
