Hey everybody. Welcome to Latter Day Struggles. This is your host, Valerie, and I could not be more excited. I have two of the, I don't know, the smartest people, the coolest people here with me today to have a conversation with for today and for the next episode. Welcome,

Catherine, Sontag and Taylor Petrie. First of all, how are you, Catherine? I'm good. Thank you. How are you?

I'm great. How about you, Taylor? How are you doing today? Great. I'm excited to be here.

Well, I am excited to have both of you. I love books. I love reading. I've read both of your books a few times and just couldn't be more excited. It's just such a privilege and an

honor to be with such fine people. Not only are you brilliant, but you're also both amazing humans

and just two good friends of mine. And I'm just so grateful for both of you. So let's

jump in. Everybody's probably going, okay, what are they here for? Or maybe you're not wondering that

because I have just finished a four-part series with Taylor here. Taylor and I did a beautiful deep dive

in his book, Queering Theology in the Mormon Cosmos. And if you're a regular listener,

you just finished that episode with, with myself and Taylor. And I was so intrigued with

some of our conversations that we were having about theology and feminist theory, that I thought it would be really fun to have

Catherine here on with us because both of these individuals have such beautiful things to say

about Mormon theology and they're doing some beautiful interpreting and analysis of how we can think about concepts

around the feminine divine here in the 21st century Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
