The Welcome back, everyone to another edition of the dungeon master's block, the place where we talk about the dungeon master, the most important person in the game, the only person capable of playing God, killing characters, and lowering the egos of all the other players at the table. I'm one of your host, Dungeon Master Chris. And now I'm Dungeon Master Mitch. And if we sound a lot better today, that's because we got new equipment to make us sound way better than in the past. Yeah. They're awesome. We got two new mics that we're recording from this week and we'll be in the future. So if this makes your ears feel just so great after this episode, you will get to hear it. Basically forever more, I think. Thank you to all our dragons. Yeah, thank you to all of our Patreon dragons out there that donated to us so that we could have the best audio quality possible for our podcast.

This week we're going to be talking about world building.

1:19.8

More specifically than world building, we're going to be talking about how to build towns and cities and make them more than just a bland.

1:26.5

You're in a city.

1:29.3

You have to make up an in on the fly,

1:37.1

which is okay. But when you create the guts of a city, your players really can get way more immersed into the city and have a lot more fun on their campaign nights than just simply, all right,

1:41.7

you stay at an inn, and that's all you've got. That's all you've got for your world, which if that's what you have, that's a great start. But I think we're going to show you a few things that can help you flush out a few more details about whatever city you're staying in with your players for that night. It can be things like museums and guilds and, you know, just a bunch of different things that can have and can add a little bit more backstory to your characters,

1:44.4

a little bit more backstory to your characters, a little bit more fun throughout your night. So stay tuned. That's going to be in our meat section, but first we are going to head into some shoutouts. Our first one come from Scraps the Cobold. It's from the UK. It says total awesness, five stars. It says, Hey, guys,

2:34.7

Thank you for your five-star review. The next review comes from Don't Eat Raw Haggis. Don't do it. Don't do it. And it's entitled, they followed me home, and I couldn't say no. Don't eat raw or Haggis says, how could I have possibly realized that after these guys followed me on Twitter, that I would become addicted to their show.

2:33.0

I've listened to other D&D podcasts, but none of them covered dungeon mastering as well as these two guys. My favorite topics are how to deal with problem players and creative ideas to use for inspiration. Thank you so much. Don't eat raw haggis. Yeah, thank you. That was a great review. We will heed your warning.

3:07.9

Yeah, we will not eat raw haggis, we promise.

3:10.9
