So, Mayor, you've been looking into the various networks that are basically trying to catch

fleeing ISIS fighters. Tell us about that.

So this was actually around the late 2017 when ISIS was losing a lot of a lot of

territory across eastern and and northern Syria so back then I was at

AFP's office based in Beirut and we cover basically everything that happens across

across the Syrian conflict and I was talking to a friend who's an activist

who is from Darusor in Eastern Syria but who is currently based in Germany and he was

telling me you know yeah you know recently I was I was up all night last night

because I was you know on these on these what's

groups and looking at pictures of ISIS fighters trying to flee and you know I just

didn't get much sleep and I was like wait what I'm sorry what did you just say what are you doing what are you

spending your nights during so just from that kind of off the cuff remark I found out
