A few days ago, Z and I were invited by a BHP listener, Captain Scarlett, to tour the ship that he commands in the US Navy,

who's the USS Independence, because it turned out that it was docked here in Portland for Fleet Week,

325 lines long, and that fragment gives us insight, not just into the events of the battle itself,

or some legendary version of them, but it also tells us a lot about Anglo-Saxon warrior and honor culture.
