Hey, what's up? David Scales here, bringing you a little midweek episode, kind of an abbreviated

episode. The London Surf Film Festival is now the lockdown surf film festival, rather than canceling

their event this year. Due to COVID-19, they are actually hosting it online. And so that kind of makes it better for everyone.

It's not a communal experience only for those in London, as it is usually.

It is a communal experience for all of us around the world to participate in.

So they're doing different screenings for about a two-week period.

And having different people from surf media interview the filmmakers. They asked me to interview Nathan Myers, who is now the

editor-in-chief of The Surfers Journal. But Nathan Myers has been working in surf film, largely

alongside Taylor Steele for years. So I interviewed him about

his film from 2012 called Here and Now, which featured about 25 pro surfers and 25 different

filmmakers. But the interesting thing about it was that it was all shot on one day.

So they employed filmmakers and surfers around the world to shoot a film all on the same

exact day. And then Nathan was responsible for direction and editing and putting it all together.
