The cows who had gobbled up the nice, fat, and juicy cows were not one whit better

for what they'd eaten.

They still had that ugly skeletal look. They devoured the good and yet remained hopelessly ugly for all that. Their veritable

picture of death itself, which devours all things living and yet remains ever monstrously thin

and hungry.
