I'd really like to tell you a bit about what we do. I'm Julie Mackenzie and I commission comedy

podcast at the BBC. It's a bit of a dream job really.

Comedy is a fantastic joyous thing to do because really you're making people laugh,

making people's days a bit better, helping them process, all manner of things.

But you know I also know that comedy is really

subjective and everyone has different tastes so we've got a huge range of comedy on offer

podcast. Now when news broke of Jordan North's departure from Radio 1, the names on everyone's lips to replace him

were Ellis, John and Dave.

As Britain's youngest broadcasters, they seemed the natural successor.

Dave couldn't be more up to date on modern music having

being part of Kenny Dope's team the bucket heads who brought the world house

classic the bomb. He was also briefly manager of Nickelback. Ellis keeps his finger on the pulse by listening in on playground chat between his two

children and their chums.

Ever present is his black notebook where he jots down trends on the must have toys, unboxing videos and

slime. John is using his insights into youth culture to try and drag some of

Britain's institutions into the 21st century. Over the last six months, he's been at the forefront of attempts to introduce text speak

into the cryptic crossword scene.

He's signed up 50 South London cafes to trial the first Bluetooth fry-up up and is teaching the Archbishop of Canterbury how to twerk.
