Summary

Zade thought she was walking into a job interview. Instead, she walked into a trap. She took a position at a beauty supply store owned by a man who quickly began blurring the line between employer and predator—overpaying her, buying her a new phone, tracking her movements under the guise of "looking out for her." When she tried to leave one night after refusing his invitation to dinner, he locked the store, shut off the lights, and tried to assault her. Zade fought him off and got away. She went straight to the police. But the nightmare didn't end there. The very next day, she spotted him outside her home, watching. The officers who responded knew him—and didn't take her seriously. What followed was a campaign of terror: endless calls and messages, claims that she "belonged" to him, and his sudden appearances at her door. Zade documented everything. She walked into court ready to tell her story. The case was dismissed. He walked free. Zade is speaking out about what it means to survive when the system fails—and why telling her story still matters.
