Welcome back to the Dungeon Master's block, the place where we come to talk about the Dungeon Master, the most important person in the game.

With every conversation we hope to inspire as many as possible to keep on dungeon mastering.

And today we will be having an amazing guest, Christina Van Epps, who plays Tori on the podcast,

who is going to be sharing with us a beautiful framework to build better backstories.

I just said it that way because I enjoy alliteration, but the knife theory is going to be linked

in the show notes, going to be linked everywhere,

but it's going to be the framework that we're going to use for this episode to talk about

how to build some better backstories, and as well as having contextual words that you

and your players can use to have conversations about backstories.

But before that, I just wanted to let you know that a catacon is right around the

corner. It is November 7th to the 9th at the Dayton Convention Center in Dayton, Ohio. And because

it's a catacom the 13th, there's more of a horror theme for everything going on. I know I will be

on a horror themed panel. I will be running a couple horror-themed games for some people,

as well as, for the first time, we're going to be having a live Dungeon Masters Block episode

at this year's AkataCon, as well as another year of Geek Wars. And I'll probably do karaoke

at least one or both nights. Also, Derek will be there as well.

And I will finally meet Derek in person. And I will find out that I am much shorter than Derek.

That's just what's going to happen. It's what happens every time I meet someone in person.
