that could talk to the dead. And Edison saw that market. He was fascinated by the new science of the period that we could talk about, but he saw a market, the market of the bereaved. And he thought, gee, if all this talk about quantum mechanics, that that's true, then maybe

these life units that make up human consciousness could be contacted after death.

You don't need a Ouija board, you don't need T-Lea, you need a scientific device,

and that scientific device is a pencil-thin narrow light beam and if I can just

induce the consciousness of a recently deceased person to cross that light beam, that'll register on a meter.

And if it registers on a light meter, I'll know that there is consciousness after death.
