I had done an episode of Grace Anatomy a season earlier, and Shonda wasn't around, and I didn't

meet her for that, but I remember that Linda Lowy, the casting director, sent a scene I had done in Curb Your Enthusiasm to Shonda,

and she approved me to get the offer on Grey's Anatomy.

Then I did Grace Anatomy, and right around that time, my book came out,
