I'm your host, Heather Ashley, and today's case is out of the Detroit, Michigan area.

Yeah. David Darnell Carter Sr. was described by his dad Elton as being a serious guy, but one who always made time for fun. He was smart,

tall, and I'm talking six foot four, and also athletic. He always prioritized family, and his sister Tasia, said that those two were extremely close. He was her best friend, and he was the person

that she would go to any time she

needed advice. According to Tasia, David was kind and sweet to anyone and everyone he met. It didn't

matter who you were. He worked hard and he took pride in everything he did, adding that he was an

amazing guy, an amazing father, amazing son.

When David was around 20 years old, he met a woman named Samia. She told Unsolved Mysteries that

she knew she liked David the moment they met. He made her laugh, and no matter what they were doing, they always had a good

time. Eventually, David and Samia had a son named DJ, and when DJ was born, David was so

excited that he actually ran into the hallway yelling, I got a boy! And it should come as no surprise to

anyone after that, that David fell into

fatherhood as naturally as a person can. He absolutely adored his son with every fiber of his being,

and even after he and Samia broke up, the two stayed friends and shared custody of DJ. DJ would stay with David

every Sunday and you would be out of your damn mind if you ever thought that David would ever,

in a million years, miss out on a school event or anything having to do with DJ whatsoever.

David went on to help coach the junior football club,

he and DJ bowled together, grabbed food after games, played Madden, and would just make the most

of every single moment they had together. DJ later said that every memory with his dad was a good
