Hey everyone on this episode I'm going to be talking with Roy Holdford who was our

intern back in 2021 and a good buddy of ours and then also Mitch Mosher who is also known as Minnesota

Mitch. You may be have seen Mitch in some of the Ohio muzzleloader videos and both

those guys went on an Elkhunt with me this past week and we were talking about how important

camo is.

I know over the years my opinion has changed on what is the most important thing when you're

trying to get yourself blended into your surroundings.

So in this episode, we're going to be talking about what camo patterns make the most sense,

how to use your surroundings as camo, and some applications in which we might choose a solid color

over a camo pattern.

At the end of the day, you can pretty much wear whatever you want.

As long as you're not moving in the winds in your favor, you can get away with a lot. But if you're trying to save yourself a little bit of extra time when you're set up on a deer, turkey, every opportunity is important and we figure even if it saves you a few seconds

that might be the difference between you getting a shot or not.

So our friends over at Vortex Optics wanted me to give you guys a tip for this time of the year and one of the things that I think is easily overlooked is how important it is to practice with your guns and make sure they're on before you get to that time of the year when gun seasons open up.

I think a lot of us that hunt with both a bow and a gun get super focused on practicing with our bow this time of the year to make sure that we're ready for that opportunity

But I also think it's really important to keep practicing with your guns

Just feeling comfortable with your equipment.

And one of the guns that I've been shooting a lot is my new pump action 308.

And this summer, I put a vortex Viper HD 2 to 10 by 42 on that, and I think it's the perfect application for that scope.

When it's on 2 Power, I've got an awesome field of view.

I can easily get on target, even if that target's really close, but if I have more time and I'm in a setup,

I can still zoom all the way up to 10 power, which is more than enough for that gun.
