Summary

When someone asks you if you can attend an event or party or get together, what’s the first thing you do?

You check if you’re free!  If you’re available at that day and time.
And then, if you are free, you’ll probably say yes.
How could you say no, you aren’t busy then.

This is where it happens!  We feel like we owe it to them to go, because we aren’t busy.  But we could end up spending that half a day doing something really fulfilling and invigorating, instead of going to the obligatory baby shower for our cousins friend.

I think we often feel like there just isn’t enough time in a day, because we are giving too much of it away!

This podcast episode is the best reminder of how precious your time is and the best strategies for deciding how you spend it.

Let’s go!

Here’s the deal with how you decide how to

If you don’t want to go, don’t go.

Alex Hormozi said-
Just because you have free time, doesn’t mean that anyone who asks for it is entitled to it.

If you see that you have an empty day, mis people assume if someone asks for that time, its theirs.

Its only not theirs when someone else has claimed it

Which means that your time only belongs to other people.

And then you’re surprised that your investment of time has yielded nothing for you.

You’ve given your most important asset - your time.

Your calendar is the best way to tell where you are going to be in a year.

You can see by what you are doing today, what your life will look like in a year.

The life that you are living today is a result of the work you did 6-12 months ago.

Just like people want an immediate reward, they see their current condition as a reflection of what you’re doing today.  It’s not - it’s a reflection of what you did 6 months ago.

It helps you make better decisions with your time now.

Going to the gym is the best example!  The change isn’t immediate.  If you skip all of your workouts, you don’t see or feel it right away- but you do in 6 months.  It also works the other way.
