Hey everybody, I'm coming to you from within Scarlett Jovazin, so if the

sound is a little strange, that's because I'm standing inside a van in a parking lot.

This episode is with my buddy Simon Rex and my new buddy Mickey Avalon. They are on tour,

0:50.7

they are fascinating people. You know Simon Rex unless this is the first time you've listened

0:55.6

to this podcast perhaps. He's a friend of mine. We met, I don't know, six months ago now,

1:01.6

something like that and we did a podcast together and we became good buddies. He's a wonderful guy,

1:08.4

super smart, very funny, very creative. He's sort of, I love what he does because it's indescribable,

1:18.3

but the best I can say is that he sort of embodies the very thing he makes fun of. He makes fun of

1:26.7

fashion and yet he's a fashion model, very prestigious fashion model. He makes fun of rap, but he's a

1:36.0

rapper. He, you know, if sense of humor and self-deprecating sense of humor are the highest attributes of

2:00.5

the girl with the faraway eyes. I think I've mentioned that before. I love that tune because it's

2:05.2

making fun of country music and it's a fucking great country song. Emotional rescue is another one.

2:12.8

That's making fun of disco and it's a great disco song. You know, there are all these examples of

2:19.9

joking about something and taking it seriously at the same time. And I think that those examples stand out

2:29.4

in my mind because it's something I admire so much. Anyway, that's what these guys do. Mickey

2:34.1

Avalon does the same sort of thing. He's a rapper. They're making fun of rap, but they're performing it

2:40.4

and they're, they put on an amazing show. I went down to San Diego a few weeks ago and saw them perform

2:47.2

at the House of Blues. It was a mind-altering experience, I must say. Really fantastic show. So if
