| 0:00.0 | The Bible Study podcast, episode 311. Today, the Bible Study podcast does part two in a series on marriage. |
| 0:12.0 | Welcome to the Bible study podcast. I'm your host, Chris Christensen. I want to look at two different |
| 0:21.0 | passages from the Bible today. We're going to look at two passages both written by Paul. |
| 0:25.8 | One is the one you think about for marriage and one is the one he actually wrote about marriage. |
| 0:30.4 | Let's start the one that we think about. If you were a Christian at the time you were married, |
| 0:35.3 | it is quite likely that the verse or one of the verses |
| 0:38.3 | you had read at your wedding was this, 1 Corinthians 13. If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, |
| 0:45.7 | but I do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging symbol. If I have the gift of |
| 0:52.5 | prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a |
| 0:56.7 | faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the |
| 1:03.2 | poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |
| 1:09.1 | Love is patient, love is kind, It does not envy. It does not |
| 1:13.7 | boast. It is not proud. It does not dishonor others. It is not self-seeking. It is not easily |
| 1:20.4 | angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. |
| 1:26.9 | It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. |
| 1:32.5 | Love never fails. |
| 1:35.0 | But where there are prophecies, they will cease, where there are tongues they will be stilled, |
| 1:39.8 | where there is knowledge it will pass away, for we know in part, and we prophesy in part, |
| 1:44.9 | but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. |
| 1:50.1 | When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. |
| 1:54.3 | When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. |
| 1:57.3 | For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror. |
