I wonder if Potiphar had taken the time to give some thought to the question

about who was more likely to be lying,

his wife, or Joseph? He might have acted differently, but alas, he didn't, and so his anger

rose against the wrong person.

The Word of the Lord endures forever is a daily verse-by-verse Bible study with the

church, past and present. Pastor Whedon is leading us in a study of the book of Genesis,

chapters 37 to 50. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the

Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. Greetings, people, loved by God. Well, in our previous study, we heard about how Joseph had been

sold to one Potiphar, a captain of the guard, a high officer, a pharaoh, and he soon discovered

that he gotten quite the bargain. The Lord was with Joseph. He blessed everything to which the young

man put his hand. And seeing this, his master relinquished more and more control over the things

of his house until finally Joseph was left as his chief steward who enjoyed the implicit trust

of his master.

Potiphar was so blessed in Joseph's service that all he gave thought to anymore was what he was
