Welcome to the Brave Writer podcast.

I'm Melissa Wiley. My brilliant co-host, Julie Bogart,

had to make an unexpected trip out of town. So I will be doing a solo episode today. And I thought

what I would like to do is give you a little glimpse into the current happenings in my own homeschool.

A few weeks back, Brave Writers, director of publishing, Don Smith and I did an episode on teens and reading and, you know, what kind of books are your teens reading?

And how is the selection happening in your homes?

What criteria are we using as we put together book lists for and

with our teenagers? And we got a lot of feedback about that episode. People really liked

hearing about what's going on with older homeschoolers. So since I have one kid left in my my home school, who is 16 years old, I thought I would share

with you just a little bit about like what's happening with us right now. And also I can give a little

flavor of how things have shifted for us in this chapter of our lives versus when my kids were a lot younger.
