| 0:30.6 | I noticed his plane was really low. |
| 0:33.6 | He went right in front of us, hit the fence, and it's spot around. You know, 30 seconds more he could have hit us. |
| 0:40.3 | And I went around that truck and a guy, stepped out from behind the truck and threw a piece of wood |
| 0:47.3 | and shot through my window just like a spear and stuck in the back of the cab at my truck. |
| 0:53.3 | That's probably one of the stranger things I've seen. |
| 1:08.7 | Welcome to the show, everybody, you're listening to Hammer Lane Legends. |
| 1:27.9 | I'm your host, Tony Merkel. And I am Brian Merkel. And we're really glad that you're here. If you have a crazy and wild experience you want to share with us from the road, go ahead and shoot us an email. Our email address is Hammer Lane Legends at gmail.com. That's Hammer Lane Legends.com. Or go to the website, hammer lanelegs.com. Hit the contact section, and you can reach us way as well. Either way works for us, just get a hold of us. If you're a driver out in the road and you find yourself in a sticky situation where you know what, you could use some food, but you ain't got it, go to prepare with hll.com. That's prepare with hll.com and you can get yourself some emergency preparedness food. It comes in the five gallon bucket. Very useful thing to have when you're out in the road because like my dad said a couple times in the show, he's been stuck in 13 hours of bumper to bumper traffic because of snowstorms, things like that. You just never know when you're out in the road what could happen and you might need some food. And this is non-perishable stuff. It lasts for up to 25 years. It's a great way to have some stuff in the cab, so you just know you're always prepared. Prepare with HLL.com. And if you get a four-week supply of food, we'll actually knock $100 off for you, so that's a great deal, too. Don't you think, Dad? I do think so. And, you know, just to add on to that, you know, it's not just about getting stuck on the road, |
| 2:18.8 | but let's all go back, take a step back to the beginning of this whole COVID thing. How many truck drivers weren't able to get food or get into a restaurant because restaurants were all shut down. They couldn't drive their truck through a drive-thru. And when this whole thing started, they were, you know, everybody was trying to figure out how in the world we're going to eat. |
| 2:14.4 | Yeah. |
| 2:14.7 | Well, this is a way to make sure that you're going to eat, |
| 2:17.5 | that you are going to have something on hand if everything falls apart like that again. |
| 2:38.9 | And that's a great point because, like, there was drivers walking up to drives through is trying to order food and they were denying them service. |
| 2:43.7 | And people will say, well, it's not going to happen again. |
| 2:45.4 | We learned our mistake. |
| 2:46.2 | It's not going to happen again. But there's always going to be something else that happens that throws us off guard and screws the driver over again, right? It's going to happen. It happens. And you just want to be prepared. And not to mention if you're at home with the family, you want to have food there at the house as well. When this all happened and stuff, the shells were bare in the stores. That's right. And so we have buckets of preparedness food at my house. |
| 3:08.1 | And we also have a freezer full of food. So, hey, listen, I'm not telling you to go to prepare with HLL.com. If you don't want new stuff. But this is something that you're interested in. Go ahead, check it out. Because I'll tell you straight up, rice and beans does a trick, too, you know, honest to God. So if you're looking for, if you're on a budget and stuff and you don't really want to go and get yourself the emergency preparedness bucket kind of thing, that's fine. Go and get yourself some rice and beans and stuff because it does the trick as well and you just want to make sure you're prepared. You just don't know. It could be a bad storm that knocks the power out. It could be, you know, food shortages like we experienced. You just never know. I'm really big on preparing. So I just want people to be prepared. That's right. So, Dad, before we get into today's show, because we got another break room show coming up with my uncle, your brother on the show. I think it's so cool. He came over, visited. We came down in studio. We did another breakroom episode. It was just a |
