Mac well that's what we're here for and uh... where the Mac power users this

episode we're gonna cover speech recognition tools and talking to your Mac in general.

You know, it used to be that you would get committed for doing things like this.

Not anymore.

Technologies come a long way.

Before we begin talking about the speech recognition tools,

though I thought we should talk a little bit about the

text to speech tools built right into Mac OS 10.

Have you ever played with any of those?

I have played with them, although they were a lot cooler a long time ago when this technology seemed

very new and very magical.

Well, you know, it's still there.

If you go into your preference pain, there's a speech, there's a speech tool.

And once you go in it, it goes two directions.

It's got speech recognition and text to speech tools.

This really exists for users with disabilities.

I think that's kind of the reason it was put there.

And there are some people that use it very efficiently.

You know, you've got a way you can have it speak wherever your mouse is on the screen

and you've got a way to have your Mac convert speech, I'm sorry,
